UNC Receives $18 Million to Combine Tech & Health

"iTech will be home to six studies with each study using technology to address a barrier to the HIV care continuum,” said Hightow-Weidman. “For youth at risk of becoming infected with HIV, we will develop apps that list HIV testing sites and medical providers who prescribe pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP to prevent HIV. We can end HIV soon if people have equal access to HIV drugs as treatment and as PrEP, and have free choice over whether to take them.

Launched today, the Community Consensus Statement is a basic set of principles aimed at making sure that happens.
